Across 11 days in October, the 2021 Brisbane International Film Festival delivered a fresh and immersive program with something for everyone.
We celebrated storytellers of all kinds, featuring local, Australian and international filmmakers. From the wit and humour of Hollywood legend Ernst Lubisch; to cult thrillers from Edgar Wright; to evocative, first nations features from Leah Purcell.
The diverse programming gave us a chance to discover something new, experience things from a different point of view and get lost in times and places far beyond our scope.
Our industry days connected us, offering a chance to meet new faces and reconnect with old friends, after a difficult few years for the creative industries. We came together to hear from thought leaders, gain perspective on recent challenging times, but also see the opportunities it has offered.
With over 1500 in attendance it was a huge year for BIFF and it could not have been achieved without the support of our Volunteers, Partners and Sponsors. Thank you to all who supported us to make it the festival a huge success.
We look forward to 2022 with renewed confidence and optimism – stay tuned for festival dates and program details.
