The inspiring and fascinating story of the development of a solar-powered tandem bicycle, designed and built at the University of Queensland in the 1980s.
A Moment in the Sun is an entertaining documentary about local solar-power pioneer, Turkish nuclear physicist Dr Ugur Ortabasi. Founding director of the University of Queensland’s Solar Energy Research Centre, Ortabasi’s journey to conceiving and creating the solar-powered tandem bicycle, one that would win the World Championships of Solar Vehicles in 1986, is a powerful testament to fighting for one’s dreams. Directed by Ugur’s son Oktay Ortabasi and Leslie Ortabasi.
