Mads Mikkelsen delivers a compelling performance in this rugged survivalist tale of a man stranded amid the unforgiving elements in the Arctic tundra.

A man waits to be rescued. Alone after a crash landing in the frozen wilderness, his resourcefulness and stoic nature keep him alive in perilous conditions. When his transmission for help goes horribly wrong, he is forced to decide between continuing his relatively safe yet meagre existence or risking it all to save himself. Brazilian writer-director Penna’s directorial debut is a beautifully spare character drama filmed in the highlands of Iceland, while Mikkelsen’s performance brings complexity to the unrelenting challenges he faces in his quest to survive.
