Drawing from Taoist myth and traditional Chinese fable, Big Fish & Begonia is a visually dazzling coming-of-age tale that wears the influence of Studio Ghibli with pride.

Sixteen-year-old Chun comes from a mystical undersea realm where she belongs to a people who are akin to demi-gods. Her world of The Others governs the laws of nature in the human world, and her people care for the souls of humanity’s dead. To complete her rite of passage to adulthood, Chun must travel from home and live in the world of humans for a week. There, in dolphin form, she meets a young man with whom her fate is forever intertwined.
