Centred around Gisèle Vienne’s dance piece ‘Crowd’, Patric Chiha’s documentary If It Were Love is a dynamic exploration of why we party to forget.
Based on Vienne’s personal experiences of the Berlin dance scene, a troupe of fifteen dancers re-enact a slow-motion 90s rave in real time to reveal moments of connection, conflict and love. From elated facial gestures of joy and ecstasy to rolling around uncontrollably in the dirt, the captivating dance performance offers an immersive cinematic experience that uncovers our desire to dance to be free.
