A sumptuously crafted historical mystery from the Academy Award-winning director of Son of Saul 2015.

The year is 1913 and the world is unwittingly on the precipice of war. Írisz Leiter returns to her hometown of  Budapest in an attempt to find the brother from whom she was separated when they were orphaned as children. However, she soon finds that his life is now enveloped in a shadow of violence and dangerous innuendo. Director László Nemes has crafted an enthralling tale of revolution and suspense, in which the threat of impending war and calamity seep through every frame.
