1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By accessing or using the Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF) website, purchasing tickets, or attending any BIFF events, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our services or attend our events.

These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF). BIFF is delivered by the appointed delivery partner, For Film's Sake Limited (ABN 14 617 728 168), operating in Queensland, Australia.

2. DEFINITIONS

In these Terms of Use:

  1. BIFF means Brisbane International Film Festival, delivered by For Film's Sake Limited (ABN 14 617 728 168);
  2. For Film's Sake or Delivery Partner means For Film's Sake Limited (ABN 14 617 728 168), the appointed delivery partner responsible for delivering BIFF;
  3. Event means any film screening, workshop, panel discussion, or other activity organized by BIFF;
  4. Ticket means any admission pass, whether physical or electronic, to a BIFF Event;
  5. Website means the BIFF (biff.com.au) website and any associated online platforms;
  6. You or User means any person accessing the Website or purchasing Tickets.

3. TICKET PURCHASES

3.1 Domestic Sales Only

All ticket sales are for domestic consumption within Australia only. BIFF does not offer international ticket sales or streaming services to persons outside Australia. By purchasing a ticket, you confirm that you are located in Australia and will attend the Event in person within Australia.

3.2 Purchase Process

  1. All ticket purchases are subject to availability;
  2. Prices are displayed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable;
  3. Booking fees and transaction charges may apply;
  4. A contract is formed when you receive confirmation of your purchase;
  5. You must provide accurate and complete information when purchasing tickets.

3.3 Age Restrictions

Certain Events may have age restrictions in accordance with Australian Classification Board ratings. You must comply with all age restrictions. BIFF reserves the right to refuse entry or request proof of age. Children under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for MA15+ rated content.

3.4 Payment

Payment must be made in full at the time of booking via the accepted payment methods displayed on the Website. BIFF uses secure payment processing systems, but you are responsible for ensuring the security of your payment information.

4. REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS

4.1 No Refunds Policy

All ticket sales are final. Refunds will not be provided except as required by the Australian Consumer Law or as set out in these Terms.

4.2 Event Cancellation by BIFF

  1. If BIFF cancels an Event, you will be entitled to a full refund or credit toward another Event;
  2. If an Event is rescheduled, your ticket will be valid for the rescheduled Event. If you cannot attend the rescheduled Event, you may be entitled to a refund at BIFF's discretion;
  3. BIFF is not liable for any additional costs you may incur due to cancellation or rescheduling, including travel or accommodation expenses.

4.3 Change of Mind

Tickets cannot be refunded due to change of mind, failure to attend, or inability to attend for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable unless otherwise stated.

4.4 Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have to a refund, replacement, or compensation where BIFF has provided services that constitute a major failure or have failed to meet a consumer guarantee.

5. ADMISSION AND CONDUCT

5.1 Right of Admission

BIFF reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any person from an Event for any reasonable cause, including but not limited to: failure to produce a valid ticket, disruptive behavior, intoxication, breach of these Terms, or failure to comply with venue rules.

5.2 Code of Conduct

When attending Events, you must:

  1. Treat all attendees, staff, volunteers, and filmmakers with respect;
  2. Comply with all venue rules and safety requirements;
  3. Not engage in any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior;
  4. Not record, photograph, or livestream any films or Events without express written permission;
  5. Silence mobile phones and electronic devices during screenings;
  6. Not bring outside food, beverages, or prohibited items into venues.

5.3 Security and Safety

You consent to reasonable security searches and bag checks upon entry to venues. BIFF may implement additional security measures as deemed necessary for the safety of all attendees.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

6.1 Copyright Protection

All films, content, materials, and creative works presented at BIFF Events are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Recording, reproducing, or distributing any content without authorization is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

6.2 BIFF Intellectual Property

The BIFF name, logo, website content, promotional materials, and all related intellectual property are owned by or licensed to BIFF. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any BIFF intellectual property without prior written consent.

6.3 Photography and Filming at Events

BIFF may photograph or film Events for promotional purposes. By attending, you consent to being photographed or filmed and to BIFF using such images or footage in promotional materials, social media, and marketing without compensation.
