Australian Premiere.

Described by Sight & Sound as the greatest work of art produced in post war Europe, Contempt from auteur Jean-Luc Godard was remastered and screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2023. Contempt features one of cinema’s most celebrated stars, Brigitte Bardot.

A landmark in world cinema, and set around the extraordinary Villa Malaparte on Capri; Contempt portrays the tragic romance between Paul and his wife, Camille. When Paul is tasked with re-writing a film script, he becomes so engrossed in writing, he appears oblivious to the film producer’s interest in his wife. With a supporting cast featuring ‘master of darkness’ Fritz Lang as himself, this glorious restoration also features the original and unforgettable soundtrack by multi-award winning composer, Georges Delerue.
