Queensland Premiere.
From the Cannes Film Festival comes Club Zero, a captivating, twisted tale of a rule defying teacher (Mia Wasikowska) who forms a close bond with five talented, impressionable students at an elitist school.
At first everything is going as planned, the principal and her league of helicopter parents are happy with their decision to hire Miss Novak, a pioneer of the ‘Conscious Eating’ movement. When her students start to lose a worrying amount of weight and miss their classes, the dark nature of Miss Novak and her obsession becomes horrifyingly clear.
Audience discretion is advised: some scenes may be disturbing with themes of disordered eating.
Special spooky double Halloween feature – Birdeater and Club Zero – on Tuesday 31 October at Angelika Film Centre.
